Bayern Munich and Benfica will meet at Allianz Arena on Tuesday in the first leg of their Champions League quarterfinal.

The German champions, one of the favorites to win the Champions League, host the staunch Portuguese club and its veteran goalscorer Jonas. Bayern Munich manager Pep Guardiola is attempting to win the Champions League in his final season at the club’s helm.

Guardiola’s team, which has lost just once in 14 matches in 2016, last defeated Eintracht, 1–0. Benfica has won 21 of its last 22 matches, and is entering off a 5–1 victory over Braga.

Bayern Munich advanced to the quarterfinal after overcoming Juventus in the round of 16. After drawing the first leg 2–2 in Turin, Juventus took a 2–0 lead in Munich before Bayern rattled off four goals, including two in extra time, to seal a spot in the quarterfinal. 

Benfica advanced to the quarterfinals after beating Zenit 3–1 on aggregate.
