Morris joins US injured list; Gordon added to roster

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) LA Galaxy forward Alan Gordon has been added to the United States roster for the World Cup qualifier against Mexico this week.

U.S. Men's National Team coach Jurgen Klinsmann said Tuesday that Gordon was added to the group to replace the injured Jordan Morr, who strained his hamstring in the first half of the FC Dallas-Sounders FC playoff match on Sunday.

Gordon has made two appearances for the United States. He delivered the assist on the 90th minute game-winner by Eddie Johnson in the national team's 2-1 World Cup qualifying victory at Antigua & Barbuda in October 2012.

The U.S. plays Mexico Friday night at MAPFRE Stadium in Columbus, the Americans' opener in the 10-match final round of qualifying in the North and Central American and Caribbean region.
