Having spent twelve years away from Derby County, midfielder Tom Huddlestone is set for a sensational return to the club as his release clause with Hull City has been met. Huddlestone joined the Tigers from Tottenham in 2013 in a deal worth £5m.

The 30-year-old midfielder made 23 Premier League starts last season as Hull were relegated to the Championship. The Nottingham-born player made his debut for Derby County as a 16-year-old and he will be returning to the club that he has almost 100 appearances for, according to Sky Sports.

Huddlestone, who is yet to discuss personal terms with the Rams, will fill the gap left by English prodigy Will Hughes after the 22-year-old joined Watford in an £8m deal ealier this summer.

Hull will be forced to enter the transfer market this summer having only made to signings so far. Chelsea's Ola Aina joined the Tigers on a season long loan from the Premier League champions, while 18-year-old Liam Edwards joined on a free transfer from Swansea City at the start of the transfer window.
