Barcelona President Seeks Out Neymar to Try and Convince Him to Snub Paris Saint-Germain

Thursday July 20th, 2017

Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu has sounded out Neymar in a bid to try and find out information about the contact he's believed to be discussing with Paris Saint-Germain and steer him away from the idea of leaving.

The football world was left stunned on Tuesday after a report surfaced that the wealthy French club were preparing to trigger the superstar's £195m release clause.

That figure, if met, would shatter the current transfer world record of Paul Pogba's move to Manchester United in 2016 by over double.

But Neymar won't be going anywhere if Bartomeu has his way, as reported by Spanish publication Sport, and the president is determined to ease the Brazilian's discomfort - which apparently was very evident to see on the team's recent flight to New Jersey.

Sport claim Bartomeu is desperately trying to deal with the situation by 'taking the bull by the horns' and taking matters into his own hands.

Apparently Neymar is unhappy at the Nou Camp because the club are not matching his ambitions because they have made no significant signings and a 'so-so' coach has been appointed in Ernesto Valverde.

PSG are offering the player an incredible contract and the chance to be the superstar of the team, something he currently isn't in Spain with Lionel Messi the undisputed talisman at the Nou Camp.
