New Liverpool striker Dominic Solanke has said the welcoming spirit at the club has really helped him settle in following his move from Chelsea.

The 19-year-old netted his first goal for the club in the 2-0 pre-season win over Crystal Palace in Hong Kong.

Solanke starred for England in their U20 World Cup triumph and hopes to kick on with the Reds next season after an impressive start.

"It was a fantastic night for me," he told Liverpoolfc.com. "The fans were amazing today, they made a great atmosphere, so to get my first goal in these circumstances was amazing.

"The first two games I came close a couple of times but it was worth the wait."

Solanke is overjoyed with the reception he has received since his arrival, saying that he feels welcome at the club after joining their pre-season tour in the Far East.

"It's been a really good start to pre-season, getting to know the boys and coming away to Hong Kong," he added.
