Ronald Koeman is reportedly looking to sign Vitesse goalkeeper Eloy Room as a backup for Jordan Pickford and Maarten Stekelenburg.

Everton are looking to pay around €1.5m for the 28-year-old, SoccerNews reported on Sunday, with the club hoping for €1.7m.

The Dutch keeper made 33 appearances for Vitesse in Eredivisie last season, helping them to reach fifth in the league.

Room has been with the club for nine years, however he has decided against signing a new contract in favour of a greater challenge, Omroep Gelderland reported on Sunday, putting the club under a lot of pressure.

If he does indeed make the move, he'll be in line to replace Joel Robles, who is looking set for a move away from the Toffees after struggling to impress Koeman since his arrival.

The 27-year-old Spaniard is reportedly linked with a move back to Spain, with Deportivo La Coruna keen on to sign the keeper, the Liverpool Echo reported on Friday.

Robles has been at Goodison Park since 2013, following ex-Everton boss Roberto Martinez from Wigan Athletic, but he's struggled to gain game time in the past four seasons, making only 63 appearances for the club.

Robles only made 20 appearances last season for the Toffees, and has yet to get the game time to really prove himself, but it appears his time in the Premier League has come to an end.
