Internazionale look set to offer €50m for Bayern Munich’s midfield enforcer Arturo Vidal as Inter’s ambitious Chinese owners target league titles and Champions League football, according to reports in Italy.

Inter Milan boss Luciano Spalletti has reportedly stressed to Nerazzurri’s wealthy Chinese owners Suning that the San Siro club need to bring in a world class midfielder in order to challenge for the Champions League spots, and tackle Juventus’ dominance in Serie A.

According to a Calciomercato report, with bitter rivals AC Milan having already spent over £160m overhauling their squad this summer, Inter’s owners are anxious to prove that Le Beamatta can attract top signings with a move for Vidal.

The former Colo-Colo star has won back to back titles with Bayern Munich since his arrival in 2015, and his dynamic performances have prompted overtures from a number of Europe’s top clubs, including Chelsea and Manchester United.

However, Bayern are reportedly reluctant to sell the combative former Juventus midfielder, with Thiago Alcantara’s long term injury problems and Xabi Alonso’s retirement leaving Die Bayern short of midfield options, should he leave.

Addressing rumours that the 30-year-old could leave the Allianz Arena this summer, Bayern boss Carlo Ancelotti said: “For Vidal, there is no way. He’s our player and I have a lot of confidence in him.

“I know there are rumours and we’re used to rumours. He’ll stay with us 100 per cent – I’m confident about that.”
