Jose Mourinho Claims Man Utd Have No Plans to Sign Real Madrid Star This Summer

Jose Mourinho has moved to rule out a move from Manchester United, for Real Madrid star Gareth Bale this summer, as reported by Goal.com.

The 28-year-old has regularly been linked with a move back to the Premier League since his move from Tottenham to the Spanish capital in 2013. However it seems like United won't be making a move this time round.

Since moving to Madrid the Welshman has gone on to be very successful, winning three Champions League trophies and a La Liga title in his four seasons with Los Blancos.

Despite it being reported in the past that Bale was unhappy at Madrid, there is now little talk about Bale wanting to push through a move to England.

As a result, Mourinho has claimed in an interview with the press, ahead of a friendly with Real, that a move for the Welshman's signature would likely be a waste of his time:

"No (he was not on my list of targets). No, because you have contacts, you have feelings, you understand things," claimed Mourinho.

"It seems to me that Bale likes Madrid, likes the challenge, likes the situation. He’s in a club in a very good situation now. I never felt the desire from him to leave, so why lose time and energy on that?"

Mourinho has already added Benfica's £30m centre-back Victor Lindelof and Everton's £75m striker Romelu Lukaku to his squad, as he looks to build a team capable of challenging in the Premier League and Champions League next season.

However this is seemingly not the end of Man United's transfer business this summer, with Mourinho admitting that he still wants more signings before the window closes:

“You know, names is difficult for me because as you know the players belong to clubs, the players they are in pre-seasons,” Mourinho added.

“The managers, the owners, they are not happy if you speak about them. The same as me."

“If I am here now somebody is telling, ‘I would like buy player A from Manchester United’, ‘I am having conversations with B player from Manchester United’, then I would ask, ‘Hey, I am here and the club is here, so be careful with what you say’."

“So I say nothing, I just keep saying the same because I never hide."

Although Mourinho has ruled out a move for Bale, other targets such as Nemanja Matic, Ivan Perisic and Eric Dier are all more likely recruits for the Red Devils this summer.
