VIDEO: Fellaini Schooled by Luka Modrić With Delightful Touch in Pre-Season Friendly

Monday July 24th, 2017

Pre-season offers a fantastic opportunity for clubs to grow their brand overseas by facing some of the biggest teams in world football, as well as the chance to see new signings in action for the first time.

In Manchester United's friendly with Spanish giants Real Madrid, two footballing veterans were involved in a moment of genius that left 29-year-old Marouane Fellaini red faced for a second time during the game.

Having already missed a chance where the phrase 'my nan would have scored that' would have been appropriate, Fellaini found himself defending one on one with ex-Tottenham star Luka Modrić and the Croatian took no prisoners in his delightful piece of skill that saw him breeze past the Manchester United midfielder.

United ended up winning the fixture, following one of the worst penalty shootout displays ever. With the score at 1-1 after 90 minutes, only three penalties were scored in the shootout, favouring José Mourinho's side 2-1.
