Lewis Grabban Surplus to Requirements at Bournemouth With Championship Loan Move Expected
After bringing Jermain Defoe back to the club on a three-year deal and the excellent form of star striker Joshua King last season, Eddie Howe is prepared to allow Lewis Grabban a move away from Bournemouth following his loan move at Reading in the 2016/17 season.
According to reports coming from Teamtalk, the out-of-favour forward has been made available for loan once more and his next destination is rumoured to be the relegated Sunderland, who coincidentally need a new striker after Defoe's departure.
Spending the previous season on loan with Reading, the 29-year-old featured 19 times in the Championship while on loan at the Royals. However, with only three goals to his name in over a 1,000 minutes of action, last year's third place team who lost in the playoff final to Huddersfield have opted against resigning the striker.
That has allowed the Black Cats to steal a march on their rivals in the Championship, where they will look to rebuild after a number of poor performances last year in the Premier League.
Following the appointment of former Preston manager Simon Grayson on a three-year contract, Sunderland and his team have acted quickly in the transfer market to bolster the squad since he given the hot seat at the Stadium of Light.
Further loans for young Everton full-backs Brendan Galloway and Tyias Browning have been made, while James Vaughan has arrived from Bury and Aiden McGeady was added to the squad.
