Championship side Leeds are close to signing Swedish U21 international Pawel Cibicki in a deal worth £1.5m, according to Swedish news outlet Sport Bladet.

The 23-year-old striker has been one of the most exciting players for his hometown side in recent years, with a direct involvement in eight Allsvenskan goals for Malmö FF this season.

Leeds are desperate to replace star striker Chris Wood, after the New Zeland international completed a recent £15m move to Premier League side Burnley. The Auckland-born striker scored an incredible 27 Championship goals last season, as well as three in Leeds United's EFL Cup campaign.

Having scored over 40 goals across his two years at the club, United will find the task of replacing their main man difficult this late in the transfer window.

Leeds have already made a number of signings this summer, with Polish midfielder Mateusz Klich and former Werder Bremen goalkeeper Felix Wiedwald moving to Elland Road for a combined £2m.
