Manchester United could be set to welcome record signing Paul Pogba back into the fold as early as this month, with positive signs being shown during the Frenchman's recovery from a hamstring issue.

The 24-year-old has not seen action since mid September, where he was substituted just 19 minutes into the Red Devils' opening Champions League win over Basel, after picking up what boss Jose Mourinho initially feared would be a "long term" injury.

The former Chelsea manager was in fact so concerned regarding the possibility of a repeat occurrence that he was tempted to send his star man to a specialist regarding his hamstrings.

However, according to the Independent, initial signs of rehabilitation are showing positive results, with Pogba posting a number of exercise regimes to social media as part of his recovery process.

With the acceleration of his comeback, there is now even the potential of the France international featuring during Manchester United's League Cup clash with Swansea City on October 24.

This will come as great news for the Old Trafford faithful, with the midweek return meaning the 24-year-old could also be available for the Red Devils' Premier League high-flyers clash with Tottenham Hotspur just four days later.

Following a fairly uneventful first season in English football, there were question marks surrounding Mourinho's methods of making Pogba the then-most expensive player in the world.

However, during the early stages of this campaign the former Juventus man's ability is beginning to truly surface, with the Frenchman netting two goals in his four league appearances so far this term as well as grabbing the same amount of assists and an 85% average pass accuracy completion rate.
