After succumbing to a last minute defeat at the hands of city rivals Inter Milan, thanks to a dubious decision from the referee to award a soft penalty, manager Vincenzo Montella admits his side should be 'more clinical' after missing the chances that could have snatched a result at the San Siro.

Speaking to the club's official website after the 'disappointing' result against Inter Milan, the under pressure manager of big spending AC Milan admitted that they have to concentrate on the next game following the 3-2 defeat.

"We are disappointed with the result, it’s surely tonight’s biggest regret," said Montella following the cruel defeat. "The boys played with heart and soul and I really like this. We created many chances but we should have been more clinical as Inter in fact was."

"I am sure that with performances like this we won’t lose many games. I saw the desire to bounce back in the boys’ eyes and to put in the AC Milan spirit, but it was not enough. This is football. Now we have to concentrate on our next game."

The former Roma and Fiorentina coach was pleased with the performances of a number of players, including goal scorers Suso and Giacomo Bonaventura, who was also interviewed after the game, admitting that despite good individual performances, his team should not be conceding so many goals.

"The solution we adopted in the second half is something that we can work on," added the AC Milan manager. "He did well also in midfield and so did Bonaventura. They are both great players and really important for us.

"We shouldn’t be conceding these many goals, but tonight they scored three goals with three chances. The team doesn’t concede many opportunities to our opponents, but as soon as we make a mistake we somehow always get punished. There’s still a lot of work to be done".
