Liverpool supporters are urging boss Jurgen Klopp to make changes to his midfield ahead of Sunday's game at Wembley against Tottenham.
With Jordan Henderson being sidelined to rest following the international break, Milner has filled the vacant midfield role, and has impressed the Liverpool faithful, especially after his performance on Tuesday night which saw them batter NK Maribor 7-0 away from home in the Champions League, providing one assist.
As a result of these solid performances from the 31-year-old, supporters want him to start in the midfield on Sunday.
For me Milner has to start vs Tottenham— paul LFC (@paulandrewwild) October 17, 2017
James Milner has got to start every game now, some guy— Matt (@mattlark17) October 17, 2017
Would love to see Milner in midfield today— Hoody (@Davidho57485540) October 22, 2017
However, who Milner replaces in the midfield is somewhat debated in the responses from fans on social media.
Some are happy for captain Jordan Henderson to stay on the bench, but others would also like to see Emre Can or Georginio Wijnaldum dropped.
Many supporters believe the Dutchman doesn't perform in the big games and therefore should be the one dropped out of the three.
Wijnaldum has to be dropped this weekend. Been poor most of the season, but Hendo/Can get all the flak. Milner should keep his place imo.— Lee (@mightyreds88) October 20, 2017
I would prefer Milner coming in for wijnaldum today— Mark catherwood (@Markcatherwood2) October 22, 2017
But with Can, Henderson and Georginio Wijnaldum all being familiar with one another, it looks as though Klopp could play it safe against a Tottenham side who are undoubtedly favourites going into this game.
