While his summer return to former club Barcelona raised a few eyebrows, Gerard Deulofeu has since seized his opportunity with both hands justifying his transfer following a run in the team after fellow summer arrival Ousmane Dembele ruptured his hamstring.

23-year-old Deulofeu, who has scored two goals in his last two appearances for Barça, toldSPORT that there is still more to come.

"There’s a lot more to be seen of me, this is just the start. I am playing well and in the three or four games I’ve played in recently I have felt much more comfortable," he said.

"I have to be myself because I want to be here for a long time and be a success at Barcelona.

"I need to be aggressive on the wing and I need to get out there and do what coach wants of me. I’m adapting more and more to my new teammates and things are going well."

The former Everton man has a desire to play every game, but realises competition at such a club is fierce.

He added: "I am a player who wants to play every game, every minute, but I know where I am. I am at the best team in the world and there are others that are playing very well who can also play in my position.

"The coach makes the decisions and I have to accept them. I just have to keep working hard. I’ve had three, four very good games and hopefully I get another chance tomorrow.

"I have a great relationship with the manager and he’s giving me chances and confidence. The rest I have to earn myself."
