Borussia Dortmund star Christian Pulisic has told the Bundesliga's official website that Saturday's Der Klassiker clash with Bayern Munich could be a turning point in their faltering season.

After a strong strong to the season which saw BVB win their first seven league games, Peter Bosz's side have lost top spot after three winless Bundesliga games and Wednesday's 1-1 home draw with Apoel in the Champions League leaves Dortmund on the brink of an early group stage exit.

USA international Pulisic has been one of Dortmund's biggest stars this season, and he told the club's website how the huge game on Saturday is a real chance to get their season back on track.

He said: "The mood in the camp isn't quite what is was at the start, after the recent games and results. But we have to keep fighting, now we need a good results – preferably against Bayern on Saturday."

The big game kicks off at 5.30pm on Saturday, and a victory would see them return to the summit, and they did win the same fixture 1-0 last season. Bayern Munich have also had an unsteady start to the season, having sacked Carlo Ancelotti after a slow domestic start and a 3-0 hammering by PSG in Europe.

However, they are unbeaten since the return of club legend Jupp Heynckes as manager, having gone back to the top of the league and qualified from their Champions League group.
