Wolfsburg to Look at Permanent Deal for Origi as Loan Striker Claims Klopp Has Not Spoken With Him

German club VfL Wolfsburg are reportedly interested in making their on-loan striker Divock Origi a permanent signing.

The 22-year-old forward is on a season long loan at the German club from Liverpool, and is said to be enjoying his time at his new club. 

The Belgian has picked up three goals from his eight Bundesliga appearances, a quarter of his total league tally for Liverpool. His goals have helped the struggling side rise to fourteenth in the Bundesliga table.

Speaking to German newspaper Bild, Origi has given him thoughts on extending his current deal with Wolfsburg. 

"I feel comfortable here," Origi explained. "This is a nice club, I have a good time. Here I can grow."

Liverpool currently have a number of quality attacking options at the club. With Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah, and Philippe Coutinho, Origi may feel that he would be surplus to requirements for the Reds.

He added that the manager at his parent club, Jurgen Klopp, has not checked in with him at all since his move to Germany: "Klopp has not contacted me lately."

Meanwhile, Wolfsburg Director of Football Olaf Rebbe has expressed his interest in holding onto Origi beyond the current season: "We will talk about in the summer, how to proceed. At the age of 22, Divock is an extraordinary striker. He's just showing off his qualities here."

Origi feels that his talents are appreciated at Wolfsburg, where he may also get the playing time he needs to develop as a striker. "Everything is possible in football," the striker added.
