Argentina will get an early look at next year's World Cup host country on Saturday when the side travels to Russia for a friendly in Moscow.

Argentina did not secure its place in next summer's tournament until the last day of CONMEBOL qualifying. After going down 1-0 away to Ecuador, Lionel Messi scored a hat trick to give Argentina a 3-1 victory. He single-handedly ensured that his nation would not miss the World Cup. Argentina will play Nigeria in Krasnodar on Tuesday.

Russia qualified automatically as the host country but has been playing often to keep the team in form. All but two players on the roster for the Argentina match play their club soccer in Russia.
