Anthony Martial Reveals Jose Mourinho Is Very Hard on Him But for the Right Reasons

Manchester United star forward Anthony Martial has admitted that Jose Mourinho operates in a very strict manner and is very tough on him, as well as the rest of the players in the Red Devils'  squad.

The French attacker has made eight starts so far this season, coming off the bench as many times, but has been consistent in front of goal, scoring six times, also assisting four goals.

He seems to be satisfied with his current role at the club, and is responding well to Mourinho's tough love.

Speaking in an interview with Premier League Productions, the former AS Monaco man opened up on his relationship with the Portuguese tactician, revealing that he likes him as a person, but does what he needs to do to keep him in line.

“He is hard with all of us and he is hard with me, there is no question,” Anthony said, via Manutd.com. “I know that it is for my benefit, but I also know that he really likes me as a person so there is no issue about the discipline being for the wrong reasons. 

"Our objective, of course, is to have all of us in audition [training] and being fit to play every match, and that is what I'm hoping to do.

“At the beginning, we didn't know each other too well but over time we have gotten to know each other better. He knows my strengths and he knows my weaknesses, such as they are, but the outcome is that we are learning to give everything in the right way.”
