Inevitably, reports have surfaced in the aftermath of his heroics that Barcelona are interested in acquiring his services.

Mundo Deportivo believe that the former Ajax youngster is not for sale, and quote Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy as saying: "If PSG paid 222 million euros for Neymar, Christian Eriksen costs 225 million euros."

If Levy has indeed said this then it is a clear deterrent to the Catalan giants - Eriksen is one of Spurs' most crucial players and is the creative influence that has allowed the likes of Harry Kane and Dele Alli to become so successful.

Mundo go on to claim that Barca technical director Robert Fernandez has attended a number of games this season to watch the 25-year-old, including against Real Madrid recently, and sees him as a possible alternative to Liverpool's Philippe Coutinho.

The Reds stood firm over the Brazilian over the summer and are expected to block any fresh attempt of the Spaniards' to prize him away from Anfield in January.
