Atlético Madrid star Antoine Griezmann has moved to distance himself from rumors claiming he will leave the club in January, while potential suitors Bayern Munich have played down their desire to sign the Frenchman. The future of the 26-year-old seems certain to be away from the Wanda Metropolitano, with a number of potential buyers clamoring to secure his services.

In an interview with AS, the talented forward categorically denied that he was planning to leave his side in January, stating:

"No (I won't leave in January). And besides, Diego Costa and Vitolo will both be able to play so we are trying to keep the team's performance levels high and those two reinforcements will do us good. Me leaving? I haven't spoken to the president about that”.

Meanwhile, Bayern Munich sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic faced questions on whether the Bavarian giants would make a sensational move for Griezmann in January, via ESPN but cited the potential costs of the deal as a key reason behind their unwillingness to make a move. Salihamidzic said:

"We haven't even talked about Griezmann.

"We won't be joining in the craziness - the sums involved are not worth discussing. If something is sensible and suits Bayern, we will do it."

It may be that the claims of Sky Sports' Spanish football expert Guillem Balague are the closest to the mark, who is confident that Griezmann will wait until summer to leave the club.

Balague doesn't believe Bayern are in the running to sign him, but did suggest the likes of Manchester United, Barcelona, Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain could all be highly interested.
