West Ham fans have taken to Twitter to vent their frustration following the disappointing 1-0 defeat to Brighton on Friday night, and full-back Arthur Masuaku is the player who is taking the brunt of the blame from fans for a woeful performance.
The Hammers faithful began the season with high hopes after seeing their club attract former Premier League title winner Manuel Pellegrini and spend big in the summer window.
Things got off to a dreadful start with four consecutive defeats in the league, but convincing wins over Everton and Manchester United as well as the 8-0 thumping of Macclesfield Town in the Carabao Cup had instilled some hope into the stands at the London Stadium.
Fans were expecting the club to extend their unbeaten run on Friday night, but Glenn Murray's first half goal put paid to that.
If these Twitter reactions are anything to go by, 24-year-old Masuaku certainly seems to be the focus of the fans’ ire.
