Borussia Dortmund's flight to London for their Champions League last 16 clash with Tottenham was delayed after English ace Jadon Sancho evidently forgot his passport.

The Bundesliga leaders were already traveling to the English capital with a depleted squad, with Marco Reus, Julian Weigl, Paco Alcacer and Lukasz Piszczek all unavailable for the pivotal clash.

But they were almost caught short of another man when Sancho discovered he had left his passport at his house just as he arrived at the airport, as reported by Sport Witness.

The Englishman was not alone in his forgetful ways, with fellow youngster Abdou Diallo also leaving his passport at home. The team were duly forced to wait while the duo desperately raced back to their respective houses to retrieve their identification documents.

Despite the delay, Lucien Favre's side did indeed arrive in London, performing a light training session at Wembley ahead of their first leg clash on Wednesday.

Dortmund, who are five points ahead of Bayern Munich at the top of the Bundesliga table, have been lighting the league up this season, and though their latest encounter against Hoffenheim ended in a stalemate, they again did not disappoint in terms of entertainment.

It was Sancho who opened the scoring, with a wonderfully taken goal in the 32nd minute, before Mario Gotze and Raphael Guerreiro tripled their lead. However, Julian Nagelsmann's side were not to be denied, and completed a remarkable turnaround in the final 15 minutes to ensure the honours were shared in a thrilling game.

Spurs, meanwhile, have won their last four games in a row, grinding out results despite the absence of injured duo Harry Kane and Dele Alli.
