Chelsea have had a bid rejected for Jamaican winger Leon Bailey who is currently in Germany with Bayer Leverkusen, with the German side valuing the player higher than the current fee offered.
According to Pipe Sierra, the bid is in the region of €25m however Leverkusen have rebuffed the offer.
But there is hope of Chelsea securing Bailey's services, as they are willing to accept an offer which is around the €33m mark.
Fellow English sides Manchester United and Arsenal have shown interest in the Jamaican however reports suggest Chelsea are leading the race.
The sporting director of Bayer Leverkusen recently said in an interview with German newspaper Kicker, that they aren't considering selling the winger, however if an offer is too good to turn down, they could decide to sell.
Leon Bailey only joined the German side from KCR Genk in 2017, and could be about to make a quick exit.
With the direction transfer fees are going, and the potential of Bailey, the price Leverkusen are offering could turn out to be a bargain.
A risk worth taking.
