The 29-year-old becomes club captain after the departure of 'Mr Won it All' Gary Cahill this summer, but his attitude hasn't changed as he reveals the Blues are 'pushing really hard'.

It's been a matter of weeks under new boss Frank Lampard, but Azpilicueta has admitted there is 'something different' at the club this summer.

In an interview with Sky Sports, the Blues captain shared that the Blues are well on their way to what Lampard wants: "In my seven years in Chelsea I've had a few different managers. It's true that this summer is something different.

"We've a transfer ban that we never had [before]. We're not here to complain, we're here to work hard. We have a new manager, everyone is pushing really hard.

"I think the team is getting close to what the manager wants from us. We are looking forward to starting the season."

The Spaniard isn't the only one looking forward to getting underway on August 11th, the supporters together are eagerly awaiting the kick-off at Old Trafford too, in what will be Frank Lampard's first official game as Blues boss.
