It was an excellent month for the Blues who won all three of their Premier League games to continue their rich vein of form which has seen them occupy fourth spot in the Premier League behind Leicester, Manchester City and Liverpool.

Wins against Southampton and Burnley on the road, and a home win against Newcastle United has seen Frank Lampard collect the Premier League award, his first as a manager - scoring nine in the process.

Speaking on receiving the award ahead of Saturday’s game against Crystal Palace, Lampard said: “Proud, appreciate it. Really nice award to win. Against a very good competition, I respect the other managers. I appreciate that. A good time to thank the people at this club, there are people behind the scenes, my staff and the players.”

The Chelsea boss beat fellow managers Jurgen Klopp [Liverpool], Graham Potter [Brighton], Brendan Rodgers [Leicester City] and Dean Smith [Aston Villa] to October’s award.

Just three months into his spell at Chelsea and he has already picked up a Manager of the Month - an incredible achievement in just his second season in management.

The trust in youth, and the mix of seniors and youngsters in the squad has proved to be an excellent balance for the Blues - they’ve all thrived this season as a result of being given opportunities by the Chelsea boss.

Chelsea have the chance to continue their winning run in the Premier league against Crystal Palace on Saturday as they welcome the Eagles to Stamford Bridge.
