Chelsea have opened contract talks with star man Eden Hazard with Real Madrid lurking in the background.
The Blues are try to press the Belgian to sign a new deal with the Premier League champions according to the Mail, are willing to pay him around £300,000.
Hazard, 27, is the subject of interest from Real Madrid alongside team-mate Thibaut Courtois and now Chelsea are looking to squash any speculation.
The Belgian's contract runs out in 2020, but with him being Chelsea's most prized asset, the Blues are keen to hold onto him. They value him at £200m, and the club will look to stay firm on their valuation.
Chelsea are now out of the top four after the 2-1 defeat to Manchester United on Sunday, and have a tough run of fixtures coming up, and with Hazard wanting to play at the highest level, it could play a part in his decision.
If the 27-year-old loves the club as he says he does, let's hope it doesn't matter where Chelsea finish this year.
