Chelsea vs Man City-Player Ratings

Chelsea fans have not been used to this under Conte, but it's a so-called 'disaster class' which allows the scoreline to read 1-0 to the visitors. A terrible performance and I would rather watch Amy Schumer do a stand-up 'comedy' performance than doing this but let's get the player ratings out of the way.

A few good saves for the Belgian and without him, it would be more than 1. Thibaut could not keep out De Bruyne's wonder strike so no blame attached.

A solid performance for the new signing Rudiger, heading the ball off the line to stop Gabriel Jesus's curling effort from going in. Good when going to ground but run around a few times by Sane.

A great performance and a great learning experience for the young Dane. Coming in for the suspended Luiz, great in the air and on the ground but could not block De Bruyne's shot.

A poor performance from the captain not playing a big part in the game. Coming off a solid performance against Atleti, any fans hoping for a good string of games for Cahill will have to wait longer.

Besides a good tackle against Sterling, produced very little. The right-wing back position is unnatural for Cesar and looked out of place tonight. Without Morata to head in his crosses and his substitute Willian unable to do anything besides a flick-on, Azpi could not do much.

Marcos Alonso was run around by De Bruyne just like Bellerin in the last game at the Bridge. Another bad defensive performance for the Spaniard and Chelsea fans will wonder what Conte's solution to the LWB position is.

Very tempted to leave this blank as that was exactly what Fabregas was against City today. In the 15/16 season, I went to a Halloween party wearing a Fabregas jersey and said I was a ghost and that's exactly what happened today. Another absolutely appalling from Cesc and surely the Spaniard should be dropped. My alliteration was better than his performance today.

Didn't do anything today, poor passing, dribbling, defending. Gave up a good free kick position to KDB. It was bad, let's move on.

Today didn't resemble a typical N'Golo Kante performance. He was asked to play much more forward than usual and this suited City who knew he his weaknesses attacking-wise. Blame the manager for that one but still very poor from Kante.

With nobody helping him there was not much Eden could do today. A free kick, saved by Ederson was his only significant contribution. Was offside a number of times and was substituted with 20 minutes to go.

Looked promising in the early stages: heading over an early chance. Prior to his injury, he looked like he could break the City high defensive line. A hamstring injury took him off early and he could miss a few weeks. Let's hope it's not too bad and he is back after the international break.

Subs: Batshuayi, Pedro N/A

Willian: 2

Absolutely appalling. An extremely frustrating performance where more times than not he made the wrong choice. A bizarre substitution from Conte when Pedro and Batshuayi were more appropriate replacements for Alvaro. Willian was terrible. To sum it all up, Willian pocketed himself.

Positives: Christensen, Conte hopefully realizing Willian is a YouTube freestyler.

Negatives: Willian, the midfield, Morata injury, and a despondent Stamford Bridge which seemed resigned to a defeat today.
