Chelsea yet to receive firm offer for Danny Drinkwater

It is getting unlikelier by the day that midfielder Danny Drinkwater will leave Chelsea this summer as no club is yet to have made a firm offer.

The 29-year-old hasn't played for the Blues in nearly a year - forget pre-season - but his Chelsea hoodoo is set to continue.

According to Standard Sport journalist Simon Johnson, the club haven't received any concrete approaches for the midfielder who joined from Leicester City in 2017.

After signing a five-year-deal at Chelsea following his arrival from the Midlands, he still has three years remaining, and on in excess of £100,000-a-week, it is getting extremely difficult for the club to find a buyer willing to meet his demands.

Frank Lampard has reportedly told the club both Danny Drinkwater and Tiemoue Bakayoko are surplus to his requirements this season, and are free to leave the club this summer should the right offer come in,

Considering the Blues' midfield options, Drinkwater is extremely unlikely to get regular game time under Frank Lampard next season.
