Emerson Palmieri returns to Chelsea training following spell on sidelines
The 25-year-old has missed three of Chelsea's last four, with his only appearance since the start of September being against Liverpool.
Marcos Alonso has been filling in for the Italian, and has impressed in the couple of games he has played on the left-side of defence in.
Emerson took to Twitter with a video of him gearing up to train at Cobham, and said: "Good to be back training with the lads!"
However, the Italian will miss Chelsea's fixture against Newcastle United in the Premier League, as he looks set to return next week for the important tie in Amsterdam when Chelsea face Ajax in the Champions League.
Which means Marcos Alonso has one last hurrah before being replaced again by Emerson Palmieri after he was shown to be the preferred choice on the left side for Frank Lampard.
Frank Lampard will be hoping for many of his squad to recover from their respective injuries, with the Blues having a fortune of bad luck this year.
N'Golo Kante, Andreas Christensen, Antonio Rudiger, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Callum Hudson-Odoi and many more of the Blues' cohort have picked up injuries this season.
Emerson has been in and out of the side after multiple injuries this season, but hopefully this time for his, Frank Lampard's and Chelsea's sake it'll be his last injury of the season.
His return will be welcomed by all concerned with the club, after he became an instrumental figure at the back to tighten the leaky Chelsea defence which has already conceded 14 goals this season.
Up next is Newcastle United at Stamford Bridge in the Premier League on Saturday.
