Chelsea captain Cesar Azpilicueta has revealed former teammate Eden Hazard turned down better deals to secure his dream move to Real Madrid.

The Belgian sealed his move earlier this month following the Blues' 4-1 victory in the Europa League Final in Baku, which Hazard finished his Chelsea stay with two goals.

Speaking to the Sun, Azpilicueta said: "Honestly, the times that he had to cope with the rumours. He always showed his desire not to sign for an English team, even if he could have better contracts.

Eden Hazard secured his second European trophy with Chelsea in Baku.

"He has never been a selfish person. He always had this dream to play for Real Madrid and we will see what happens.

"But I think he has been very honest until the last day."

Since joining in 2012, Hazard took his game to another level, and now he's hoping to do the same in Madrid.
