Over the last few weeks, Chelsea have started to bring in new additions in order to boost the quality and numbers of the squad for the next campaign.

One of the main areas in which have come to the attention in needing adding to, is the central midfield area, and the wing-back position.
With many targets being named over, Oxlade-Chamberlain, and Danilo, who recently joined Manchester City.

Chelsea have already added to the midfield with the signing of Tiemoue Bakayoko from Monaco however Nemanja Matic looks to be on his way out, nearing a move to Manchester United, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.

Reports came out from Sport, that Chelsea were willing to pay the €40 million release clause of Barcelona midfielder Sergi Roberto.

With Roberto being able to play both in the middle of the park, and in a full-back role, the versatility of the Spanish player will tempt Antonio Conte even more.

With Matic reported to be leaving for around £50 million, this could be a very good deal for Chelsea. They can make a slight profit if they bring in Roberto who will cost less, and he can play in a variety of positions.

Conte was quoted in an interview saying, “In Singapore, Rudiger and Morata will arrive, maybe someone else.”

This ‘someone else’ could end up being Sergi Roberto.

Whether the deal will happen though, is something we will have to wait and see.
