The 23-year-old has played more minutes than the rest of the Chelsea squad over the four opening pre-season fixtures.

He hasn't yet had a break at Chelsea, in and out of the side and being shipped out on loan - Kenedy was at Newcastle United last season but they opted not sign him on a permanent basis.

Speaking to the official Chelsea website, he was delighted with how much game time he received in Japan against Kawasaki Frontale and Barcelona: "I am very happy with the amount of minutes I played in Japan.

"It was a great experience. I am really pleased for the opportunity the manager is giving me and the amount I have been playing in pre-season."

Kenedy is getting his head down and continuing to work hard in order to impress Frank Lampard, and is hoping he can achieve his dream next season at Stamford Bridge.

"Now I have to start again here at Chelsea and work hard, step by step. My hope now is to do a great season here at Chelsea. That is my dream."
