The 20-year-old was on loan at Vitesse in the 2017/18 season, then he joined Frank Lampard at Derby County last season.

Now Mount is back at Chelsea and he is thriving in pre-season so far, having scored the most goals in the squad with three to his name.

Speaking to the official Chelsea website, he shared his emotions on making a return to Stamford Bridge: "I feel like I’m home after having two seasons away on loan and now coming back.

"It’s very exciting times for the younger players because there’s an opportunity there but it’s not given.

"You have to work hard and show to the manager that you’re ready to step up and get into the team. That’s my goal, I’m loving my football at the moment and playing where I feel most at home."

Mount, 20, also signed a new long-term deal at the club alongside fellow midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek.

Mason Mount will next be in action on Wednesday as the Blues face RB Salzburg.
