Michy Batshuayi has impressed since his move to Germany in January with Borussia Dortmund and now they are concerned that his fine start could put them at a disadvantage in the summer.
The Belgian struggled to cement a spot in Antonio Conte's plans despite scoring frequently when given the opportunity, the most notable goal in his tenure at Chelsea was scoring the winner to clinch the Premier League title against West Brom.
In his five appearances with Borussia Dortmund he has scored on five occasions including a goal on his home debut for the club.
When talking to German newspaper Kicker, quotes from the Standard, Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc has said Batshuayi's impressive form is to the German club's downfall: "The situation hasn't changed since his signing, and certainly not to our advantage.
"He has become even more interesting to others."
Dortmund wanted to make a deal permanent for the Belgian forward however Chelsea refused, and it looks to have paid off for the Premier League club who can see how well Batshuayi is flourishing in Germany, with a new lease of confidence.
But with Olivier Giroud joining the West London side in January, Batshuayi could be surplus to requirements, especially if Antonio Conte is still in charge beyond the summer. With the way he is going, could this give him a reason for Chelsea to put more faith in him? Time will tell, but he has to continue with the way he is going.
