With just over two months until the window opens, Newcastle boss Steve Bruce is lining up his targets to bolster his squad in the winter market.

19-year-old Reece James has caught the attentions of Steve Bruce in Tyneside, and he is considering making a move for the right back.

According to The Sun, the Magpies are looking to take him on loan for the rest of the season.

James, 19, has played five times for Chelsea in the Premier League this season, and made not only his domestic debut, but hiss European debut too in the Champions League against LOSC Lille earlier this month.

He had an impressive spell at Wigan Athletic in the Championship last season, in his first campaign in senior football, and a year on he is now in the Blues' first-team.

Frank Lampard came to Stamford Bridge whilst Reece James picked up an ankle injury which would see him on the sidelines for several months, but he has now forced himself into the equation at Chelsea as the right-back is in direct competition with captain Cesar Azpilicueta.

Leeds United and Brighton have also shown interest in Reece James, but it is unlikely that Frank Lampard would be willing to let the highly-rated full-back depart, albeit on loan.

Despite having a slow start to the season under Lampard, Chelsea have gone from strength to strength - having won their previous seven games in all competitions.

Chelsea on the other hand, won't be able to acquire any new additions in January as they still have one remaining window left to serve of their transfer embargo.
