Matt Debono

Currently sitting in fifth spot in the league, Chelsea currently have four wins to their name this term, with 75% of their victories coming on the road.

There has been many standout performers for the Blues this season in Frank Lampard's first few months in charge at Stamford Bridge.

Marcos Alonso has been in and out of the side this season under Frank Lampard following multiple injuries to his competitor Emerson Palmieri.

But in the Italian's absence, the 28-year-old has proven to be a much-needed asset to the Chelsea side as he comes in as fifth top performer on average in the Blues' side.

In his five games, Alonso has managed to get one assist from the left-hand side of defence which came in the 5-2 win over Wolves at Molineux in September.

Chelsea have only lost once whilst he's been playing - securing a 80% win percentage this season.

It's been a whirlwind of a few months for the centre-back having arrived into the first-team picture at Chelsea this season, after he followed Frank Lampard back to Stamford Bridge after the pair worked together last season at Derby County.

Tomori had to be patient at the start of the season having sat out of the first three Premier League games, but he got his chance against Sheffield United at the end of August.

Since then, the centre-back has been superb for Chelsea at the back, being the consistent figure at the back, and it has showed in him only picking up one booking this season.

A man to be relied upon at the back, despite some shaky and naive errors which luckily haven't cost the Blues, but the 21-year-old has shown his threat towards the goal.

His performances also warranted him getting an England call-up this month, despite not playing, Tomori's efforts in the Chelsea backline have been recognised.

The best of him this season? His goal against Wolves. It wasn't just a goal, it was an outstanding goal from a central defender.

He will be in the side for years to come, with the tender age of just 21, Tomori has shown signs of becoming a world class central defender, and Chelsea are lucky to have finally seen him utilised.

3. Emerson Palmieri - 7.22 per game

The statistics don't reflect the impact Emerson Palmieri has had on this Chelsea side, this season and in the previous.

Emerson has been constantly dealing with injuries this season with his hamstring, which has left him becoming an inconsistent figure in Frank Lampard's side this campaign.

But that hasn't stopped the 25-year-old left-back from producing solid performances at the back, albeit the Blues conceding 14 goals this season.

He has also given Chelsea a boost this week as he has returned to training after time on the sidelines, and is set to return to the side next week for their Champions League game against Ajax.

Mason Mount has been simply fantastic for Chelsea this season - there is no two ways about it.

His application, versatility, eye for goal - he's got everything and just like Fikayo Tomori, he's finally been given his chance at Stamford Bridge, and boy has he taken it.

Four league goals this season already and an assist in his debut Premier League season from midfield - Frank Lampard would be proud of that himself.

Multiple England call-ups which has seen him start for England, the 20-year-old is only just starting his career.

An academy product who knows what it means to come through the ranks, has shown why he's been deserving of his starting role each week this season - leaving Ross Barkley on the bench, and he'll be after his international spot soon with England.

Mount has been phenomenal for the Blues so far this term, and if he continues in this rich vein, he'll see himself in the Premier League Team of the Season come May.

Chelsea's top performer in the Premier League so far this season - Tammy Abraham.

For years, Stamford Bridge has been crying for a forward to not only break the curse of the no.9 shirt, but for a striker to have an instinct and eye for goal, and Abraham has been the one to deliver.

From the Championship last season, to this season's joint-top Premier League goalscorer with Manchester City's Sergio Aguero with EIGHT goals in as many games.

Abraham was written off by many, would he be able to perform in the top-flight? A goal every 72 minutes, which has included a hat-trick [against Wolves], and two braces [versus Norwich City and Sheffield United] has lifted Chelsea into fifth spot in the league.

The 22-year-old has been at the forefront of that, and has started to create a partnership with midfielder Mason Mount, which is set to last for the foreseeable future.

He's Chelsea future up top, and soon he will be England's after getting his first cap last week for the Three Lions.

----------

Frank Lampard will be hoping Chelsea can produce another win this weekend as they look to make it three wins on the spin in the Premier League, as Newcastle United make the journey down south to West London.

Not in my wildest dreams did I think Tammy would get off to a start like this. May it continue for another 15 years.
