West Ham join race to sign Chelsea outcast Danny Drinkwater

Danny Drinkwater is a popular man this summer, well not at Chelsea, as several clubs are lining up to sign the midfielder as the Blues are prepared to let him leave.

He has been starved of game time since joining Chelsea from Leicester City last summer, and he is set to leave the club this summer - permanently or on loan is still yet to be decided.

Southampton and Crystal Palace were reported to be interested in the 28-year-old, and now the Mirror report that West Ham are lining him up as a potential signing.

Just like Tiemoue Bakayoko has stated, Drinkwater is determined to fight for his place at Chelsea but he is expected to leave the club before the window shuts on August 9th.

Newcastle and former club Leicester City are also potential suitors as they place Drinkwater on their transfer radar.

If he does leave permanently, it is very unlikely that the Blues will recoup the £30 million they paid for him - some things just don't work out, and Danny is one of them, unfortunately.
