Liverpool fans begin to panic as new players don’t join and two players are currently injured

Liverpool failed to sign attacking reinforcement this transfer window and fans are starting to get worried about our squad depth...

Well, it surely is too soon to forget about how injuries derailed Liverpool’s season last year. Now, within the first month Roberto Firmino and Takumi Minamino are both injured. What is worse, the club is quiet with no official statement on the extent or type of injuries.

However, is it time to panic already? Well, even if it is not, fans are going crazy on Twitter. Memories of last season have not even faded and injuries are popping up again. Last season it was the defensive players who got injured one after the other. This time around it's the attackers.

Roberto Firmino of Liverpool celebrates after scoring their team's second goal during the Premier League match between Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur at Anfield on December 16, 2020 in Liverpool, England.

Firmino sustained an injury in the game against Chelsea. The club have not yet released a statement or an update regarding what exactly is wrong and how long will he be out for. Weird right?

In addition to that, Minamino sustained an injury while on international duty. This is something that Liverpool fans were dreading. The Liverpool attacking options are dwindling.

Divock Origi is the only attacking option when the fit front three of Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane, Diogo Jota need rotation.

Origi has been far from good for Liverpool. In fact there were rumours that he could be on his way to the Super Lig, but now given that there are two injuries, he might be force to stay and fill in.

Does he have another few great moments like the goals he scored against Everton in the Premier League and Tottenham Hotspur in the Champions League final to make it number 6.

Given that the fixtures are going to come thick and fast. Some disgruntled fans seems to be having the last sarcastic laugh. FSG had the chance to add players to the team but decided not to. A decision that could bite them in the backside if there are a couple of more injuries.

Jurgen Klopp will have a serious headache when it comes to tactics and line-ups. Rotation will be key to ensure that none of the first team players get injured.

Personally, I believe the current squad has what it takes to beat any team on their given day. However, if players keep missing games through injury we might be entering another long drawn season similar to last year.

Are injuries going to derail Liverpool’s season once again? Here are some fan reactions…
