Leicester Players That Fit in the Liverpool Squad

Liverpool travel to the King Power Stadium to kickoff match-day 24 of the 2020/21 Premier League season.

Coming into this game off the back of a deflating 4-1 defeat to Manchester City, the Reds must bounce back if they want to remain the Champions League places.

With a whole host of teams eagerly breathing down the reigning Champions necks, three points are vital for Jurgen Klopp's side.

The German's predecessor and landlord Brendan Rodgers is in the opposition dugout as the Foxes manager, a win for the visitors will see his former club leapfrog them into third place.

We asked LFCTR Writers what Leicester player would walk into the Liverpool side.

James Maddison: The Next Liverpool no. 10?

Not only a big fan of the darts but also one of England’s most exciting midfielders. Whilst Liverpool are stacked in midfield, Maddison offers support in that 10 role that we haven’t replaced since Coutinho left.

Thiago, Henderson and Milner are the perfect role models for Madders who with thrive in this Liverpool team.

He provides drive from midfield and creativity, taking pressure off the full backs front three to be the creators. With Maddison we can attack through the middle too.

He is a set-piece specialist and scores goals from midfield. At only 24 years old he is only going to get better and could be a very key player for a big team in the next six to eight years.

Maddison is a player who could impact Liverpool for years to come and under Klopp, the potential is endless.

Wilfred Ndidi

Wilfred Ndidi would be the perfect signing from the Foxes. Liverpool have an abundance of midfield options. However, we only have one purely defensive minded man in our engine room.

Fabinho plays that role superbly.

Since he has moved to centre back we lack a pure number six. Thiago is an exceptional footballer, but he suits a role further up the pitch. He is excellent in a double-pivot but I am unsure of him as the sole anchor to our midfield.

Henderson would be wasted as a six as his interplay with Trent Alexander-Arnold is missed when he is deployed in the middle. Ndidi would offer something different and add depth in a vital position within our squad.

Wesley Fofana: Could Start at Liverpool

Considering Liverpool’s current situation, Wesley Fofana would be a great addition to the squad.

After joining Leicester in the summer from Saint-Etienne, the defender has already established himself as one of this season’s finest centre backs.

His versatility adds a pretty underrated layer to his game, having played all across the backline.

Strong, agile, intelligent and only just turned 20 years old; the Frenchman looks like the full package. Admittedly, he would not come cheap.

Leicester would want to recoup at least double of the £36.5 million figure they paid back in October. However, as we have all seen, £75 million for a centre back can turn out to be a bargain.

Youri Tielemans: Gini's Liverpool Replacement

Having been tipped to replace Gini Wijnaldum at the club, Tielemans is the player I would want at Liverpool.

The young Belgian midfielder has been a constant for Leicester this season. I would consider him a major upgrade to Wijnaldum in our current midfield. Tielemans has 0.44 goal creating actions per 90 compared to Winjaldum's 0.05.

Youri offers consistency--he has been available in over 95% of matches this season. With Liverpool's injury problems at the moment, a healthy player would be a blessing.

At just 23 years-old, Jurgen Klopp could turn Tielemans into a world beater at Liverpool.

Jamie Vardy leading the line for Liverpool

Roberto Firmino isn't firing and we are heavily linked with attacking powerhouses in Kylian Mbappe and Erling Braut Haaland.

If I was to pick a Leicester player, I would choose Jamie Vardy.

His record speaks to itself and he can add some speed to our, already blistering, front three of Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah.

He is your typical goalscorer with the ability to find the back of the net at any opportunity. Whether it be spinning the defender and firing goalwards, or latching onto to passes beyond the last line or it might even be a tap-in. Maybe not a world-class forward but a Premier League proven forward and one I would have leading the line.
