Loris Karius has had a mixed time at Liverpool, from breaking into the team and impressing fans, to his very public career ending mistakes against Real Madrid in the Champions League final.
Since that game, Karius has been on a downward spiral. He was sent on loan to Besiktas last season and this season he has been playing in Germany for Union Berlin.
Karius only played 5 games the whole season after not impressing their manager and with one season left on his Liverpool contract, the Reds may be looking to recoup a small amount of the £5million they bought him for.
There have been some recent reports that he may be heading back to Germany after Vfb Stuttgart sold their highly rated keeper, Gregor Kobel, to Borussia Dortmund.
Stuttgart are said to be searching for keepers and Loris Karius is on the list of potential replacements.
In a recent interview with Bild, Karius had this to say on his future with Liverpool: “As of now, I’ll be at Liverpool on July 12th.
"There is still a lot going on at the moment. Because of the European championship and corona, the transfer market will pick up rather late.
“I’ll keep everything open and will make the right decision for myself. I want to prove something to myself and the people.” said the German keeper.
“I am extremely hungry and motivated. You should never exclude anything. Last year I was gone and I would have been in the Liverpool goal two weeks later due to injuries in the goalkeeping position.”
It seems like Karius is desperate to play first team football, which he isn't going to get at Liverpool next season. So just off that, it indicates that he is going to be leaving Liverpool this summer.
