According to Paul Robinson, It's Criminal That This Liverpool Midfielder Isn't Getting Game Time

Former England goalkeeper, Paul Robison has come out and mentioned that Liverpool midfielder Alex Oxlade Chamberlin should be getting more minutes under his belt than he currently is at Liverpool.

Oxlade-Chamberlain has made a total of 109 appearances for Liverpool in which he has found the back on the net on 14 occasions.

However, with the way things stand, even when Oxlade-Chamberlain is fully fit, he does not seem to feature in Jurgen Klopp’s plans unless there is an injury, or we are forced into major rotation.

In an interview with Football Insider, Paul Robinson mentioned, “He’s too good not to be playing. It’s criminal. I cannot see Liverpool letting him go in January though. Salah and Mane are off to the African Cup of Nations (AFCON), and he is one of the players who can play in those wide positions. He gives them an option across the midfield and the front line. A player like that is going to be hard to replace. He is the ideal player.”

This season, in spite of multiple injuries in midfield to Harvey Elliott, Thiago Alcantara, Naby Keita, etc. Oxlade-Chamberlain has gotten to play for just eight minutes in the Premier League.

Those eight minutes came in the season opener against Norwich.

In addition to that, Oxlade-Chamberlain has appeared off the bench in the two Champions League games for Liverpool FC.

There have been rumors flying around that he will be looking for a new club for regular first-team action. He would like to do this to improve his chances of fighting for the English squad.

Well, with the change in ownership at Newcastle, could we see him be one of the first established players to join the club?

Not a lot of Liverpool fans would agree with this statement give Chamberlin’s injury record and the fact that there are certain times that he goes missing in games as well. On the other hand, there are a few occasions on which he was able to light the game on fire.
