Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp believes Mohamed Salah is currently ahead of Robert Lewandowski, Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi when it comes to the world’s best players.
The German was speaking after his team’s stunning 5-0 Premier League victory against Watford at Vicarage Road on Saturday.
Another Wonder Goal
On a comfortable afternoon for Liverpool, the famous front three were back to their very best.
Salah brilliantly made Sadio Mane’s opening goal and Roberto Firmino returned to the starting line up with a bang scoring a hattrick.
It was another moment of individual brilliance from the Egyptian however that has left everyone once again talking about him.
With Liverpool leading 3-0 early in the second half, Salah picked up the ball on the right hand side of the box.
Surrounded by defenders, it looked like he had nowhere to go but incredible skill and tight control saw him leave the Watford players floundering before he fired an unstoppable shot past Ben Foster.
It was his second fantastic individual goal in the last two Premier League games with the last one coming in the 2-2 draw with Manchester City at Anfield earlier this month.
Klopp On Where He Ranks His Egyptian Striker Against The World’s Best
Over recent weeks, all the talk has been about Salah and his sensational form this season.
It was no surprise therefore when his manager explained just how high he rates him when compared to the world’s best players.
“For me he is the best. I see him every day and that maybe makes it easier for me, but there's Lewandowski out there, Ronaldo still scoring like crazy and Messi still pulling out performances on a world-class level. But, at this moment, he is for sure on top of that list."
Klopp will be hoping his talisman can carry on his fine form and put Liverpool in a commanding position in their UEFA Champions League group when they take on Atletico Madrid on Tuesday.
