It was sighs of relief all around as Liverpool bagged their first win at home in 2021 after six consecutive defeats at Anfield. Mohamed Salah was once again among the goal scorers.
Salah who scored his 19th league goal of the season, in an interview with Sky Sports after the game stressed the importance of the come back.
"Just to fight back. That's the most important thing. Because usually we didn't win a couple of games here and mentally we think no not again."
Salah was also quick to defend his team mate Trent Alexander-Arnold after recent criticism saying, "He has played well."
Mohamed Salah was able to speak from experience when giving advice to the young Scouser who has come into some scrutiny as of late.
"I tell him focus on your own game, don't listen to anyone else. People will always talk."
Mohamed Salah, who at times has not been at his best, continues to show why he is so important for Liverpool. His comments reflected something Liverpool have not done in some time and that is claw back wins any way they can.
This mirrored many of their wins last season which led them to the league title and fans can only hope it will light a fire in the team that drives them to hold that top four spot by this seasons end.
