Liverpool are currently taking on Newcastle United at Anfield in a Premier League clash. The Reds, who could move into the top 4 with a win, find themselves up 1-0 after a glorious strike from Mohamed Salah in the third minute.
Mohamed Salah found the back of the net early in this morning's Premier League match. The goal from Salah put him just five goals away from 100 Premier League goals.
Salah settled the ball after it came off of Roberto Firmino and turned only to bury the ball in the back of the net. Martin Dubravka, the Newcastle United keeper, had absolutely no chance at stopping Mohamed Salah's effort.
As things stand after Mohamed Salah's opening goal, Liverpool FC find themselves inside the top 4. Of course, Chelsea and West Ham play today in what could be a season defining match for both London sides in their battle for Champions League football.
Newcastle, on the other hand, find themselves in 15th place in the Premier League table. While they are not mathematically safe just yet, it would be safe to say that the Toon army of Newcastle United will remain in the Premier League for next season's campaign.
Liverpool have recently made the signing of Red Bull Leipzig defender, Ibrahima Konate, as first claimed by Fabrizio Romano. The young defender has agreed to a five-year contract with the Merseyside outfit and will join on May 1st. The transfer fee for Ibrahima Konate is set to be near €35 million which seems to be a bargain.
