The signing of Ibrahima Konate has excited a lot of Liverpool fans and rightfully so, he has all the qualities to be one of the best players in the world in his position and playing alongside Virgil van Dijk will only help to improve his game.
Liverpool managed to steal the highly rated centre back for a bargain of £36million, for a 22-year-old who has Champions League experience and has played at a top club is amazing business from Michael Edwards.
In an interview with the Liverpool Echo, Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher had his say on the young Frenchman.
"I've seen snippets of him in the Champions League, obviously last season when Leipzig did really well.
"I watched him this season and I watched him a few days ago for France (U21s) and he just looks massive.
"He's big and I like the size of him, he looks like he can cover the ground, he's got big long strides when I was watching him play and he looks a huge presence and you just trust Liverpool with signings, you just do now.
"The way they go about it with Jurgen Klopp and Michael Edwards, the prices they pay, the ages they get certain players at, you just trust them.
"So, you know, if Liverpool feel someone is good enough to bring in, they've got the whole fanbase on side because of their track record."
It's hard to disagree with Carragher's statement, even when Liverpool fans were weary about the price of a player, like Diogo Jota, they have went on to prove their worth and eventually won the fans over.
So if Jurgen Klopp and Michael Edwards see a player in Ibrahima Konate then it's highly likely that he will go on to be a world beater and become a star for Liverpool for years to come.
