The 18-year-old wonder kid who is the youngest player to have ever started three consecutive games for Liverpool suffered a horrid ankle injury after being tackled by Pascal Struijk of Leeds United. The latter received a Red Card for his audacious tackle.
At first sight Elliott seemed to have broken his ankle. Mohamed Salah who was closest to him was seen frantically trying to stop play and get the attention of the medical staff and the referee.
Elliott was subsequently stretchered off and rushed to the hospital. It has been confirmed that he will require surgery.
The dates of the surgery and the amount of time required to recover completely are yet to be announced.
It has been confirmed that he had suffered an ankle dislocation. The medical staff acted quickly and snapped his ankle back in place as soon as they could.
This injury marred the celebrations of a comprehensive 0-3 battering of Leeds at the hands of Liverpool.
In an official statement, Liverpool FC made sure to thank Leeds General Infirmary.
Jurgen Klopp also commented on the injury.
All of us at LFCTransferRoom wish Elliott a speedy recovery.
