Naby Keita will 'Snub' a New Contract Unless He's Guaranteed More Game Time

Liverpool are currently trying to sign players whose contracts are coming to an end in 2023 and one of them players is Naby Keita.

Naby Keita, where to start with the Guinea international. We all know the quality he can produce on the field. He offers Liverpool something different. He's more technical and can produce a bit of magic when Liverpool need it.

However, he's never really fit enough to be selected to produce that bit of magic that Liverpool need in the midfield.

Since he signed for Liverpool in 2018, for a reported fee of £54million from RB Leipzig, he has missed 41 games...

For a midfield that relies on running up and down the pitch every game non stop and having to stay fit, that's just not good enough for Jurgen Klopp.

However, as previously said, Keita offers something no other Liverpool midfielder offers and Jurgen Klopp knows that.

That's why when the 26-year-old is fit, Klopp usually starts him or at least makes sure he is involved.

Keita is also in the group of Liverpool players whose contract is set to expire in 2023. The Reds have made a big leap in amending these, including agreeing extensions with Fabinho, Alisson and Jordan Henderson. Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane are all set to be rewarded with new deals also.

There is one thing that separates all these players from Keita. They're all key players who are available 95% of the time, that's why fans weren't sure if Liverpool were going to extend the midfielders contract.

However, according to recent reports Liverpool are going to attempt to persuade Keita and his management to agree an extension.

Despite Liverpool showing interest, according to Bild, Naby Keita is set to snub the offer if he isn't promised regular first-team minutes.

They even go as far to say that Keita won't even entertain negotiations unless he is provided more of a prominent role at Anfield.

This is a bold move from Keita's camp as it's not really the fact he doesn't have a prominent role if Klopp's squad, it's more the fact that he can never stay fit for long enough to establish himself...
