Roberto Firmino has been the subject of plenty of criticism this season on the back of several poor performances. Firmino has long been a key component in Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool system, but it seems that those days may be running out.
Former Liverpool striker John Aldridge commented on the Brazilian's poor run of form.
"Look at Firmino, he is a problem. He has lost his mojo completely and I have been one of his biggest fans, but it has been like this for a long time now. It is evident to all the fans."
The former Hoffenheim man has featured 43 times for the Reds this season but has little to show for it. In those appearances, Roberto Firmino has scored six goals and provided an additional seven assists in over three thousand minutes played.
John Aldridge went on to say that Firmino's form can even be seen in the way he walks about the pitch.
“His demeanour is different and he drops into midfield to do a job there at times, but when you have a number nine on your back, your job is to score goals.”
The man who scored 50 goals for Liverpool says that Firmino is a man low on confidence who maybe needs a break.
“He’s lost his belief, totally, his confidence, everything in his game seems to have gone and he just can’t shake himself out of it."
"Maybe he needs a break? Maybe next season the return of the fans will help him out of it?”
