Naby Keita joined Liverpool in 2018 for £54million from RB Leipzig after dominating the league and proving himself as one of the best midfielders in the Bundesliga.

Liverpool took risk on the Guinea international and splashed the cash on him, hoping that he would provide the same performances he did for Leipzig.

Unfortunately, since joining, Keita has had a torrid time with injuries and has yet to break into the starting 11 permanently.

Keita has showed his talent in the games that he has been available for.

However, when Keita does string a run of games together and impresses the fans and manager, he usually gets an injury that derails his progress even more.

Nonetheless, one of his former teammates is not giving up on Naby Keita and still stands by the fact he is the best player he has played with.

RB Leipzig's Willi Orban told Goal and SPOX: “Naby is a very sensitive guy who has to feel completely comfortable in his environment in order to perform well."

The Hungarian believes that to get the best out of his former teammate you need to handle him carefully and protect him.

Orban continued by saying: “You have to take special care of him, talk to him a lot. He needed breaks from time to time, when he was with us.

"The Premier League is certainly even more demanding in this regard.”

When the RB Leipzig centre-back was asked who the best player he has played with during his career, he answered by saying: “Keita with his extraordinary ball control, his dynamism and his finishing. He was just complete.”

Keita definitely has the talent to be a Liverpool player but sadly he doesn't seem to have the fitness required and unfortunately that goes hand in hand with Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool team.

If Liverpool can recoup any of the £54million they paid for Keita then they would surely accept it.
